I’ve had the great pleasure of “sitting at the feet” of both David Whyte and Mary Oliver as they read their art. Later this month I am attending a reading by the extraordinary Joy Harjo. In the midst of the darkness comes the light.🔥

I had to share this. Some days the 9-5 is too much. We were not built for it. How much of my life has been wasted? How much of my vitality has dissipated?

When I read things that resonate so strongly, I get excited! I want to meet the author and ask him if he really means what he's writing. Please don't tell me they are words put together because they sound nicely.

And if the case is that you really do believe in the world you just wrote, can we be friends so we can collaborate and speak these words aloudly

I don’t always open my phone before I get out of bed, but I did this morning, and this poem was the first thing I read! Amazing timing. And so I am reading it again now as I turn out the light and say good night. Thank you!

Love his poetry and that book especially. His book, 'Consolations' while not poetry, will change the way you see many of the words you have used your whole life. Brilliant!

David Whyte. I have nervously participated in a few brief weekend talks with Whyte. He is of the gifted poets. And he lives in my home state. I like that fact
