Poetic Outlaws provides me a respite from the madnesses our beloved planet Earth is enduring. Thank you, thank you! It has forever been the nature of man that the malevolent serpent has remained at least somewhat beneath the surface. Now though we struggle to free ourselves from the god fearing lunatics scattered everywhere among us.
Means more knowing that house and that part of the cape. I had the good fortune to live as a teenager near the outermost house and walk those beaches. Never saw this poem. The day is starting off well.
The wanderers, the poets, the artists, the gardeners, the imaginers among us are the ones who most inspire me to see mankind finding our way through the man made madness we're now enduring. My dearest old friend Doug always said, "Jim, leave yourself a lifeline." The story is our lifeline.
What we might get at this evening, if we are lucky. If the mic doesn't fail; if my voice holds out; if you ask me questions...is what the importance of this effort is. It would seem to me, that, however that this may sound, I want to suggest that the poets - in which I mean all artists...are finally the only people who know the truth about us. Soldiers don't, statesmen don't, priest don't, union leaders don't. Only the poets - James Baldwin's "Artist struggle for Integrity"
I’m a student who has recently come back from a solo trip to front line Ukraine. I’ve just published a new piece on my experiences and thought readers here may appreciate it. Please do see what you think. https://irongoose.substack.com/

Love it: Hold your hands out over
the earth as over a flame.
Thank you. Brings me to tears.
In a wild place
My only chance find her
My loving mother
I missed a "to" 😐
Absolutely wonderful. Thank you.
I share the sentience, the yearning, the apprehension. And the deep love.

Feeling the grace and honoring with gratitude:
Touch the earth, love
the earth, honour the
earth….
A thousand times YES!
Beautiful - thank you.
