I feel I am found wanting and dismissed; for times of great difficulty that I survived. For all the things I could not do in the circumstances I found myself in. My own creation? Or a longer thread played out from generation to generation. I did the best I could. I loved deeply.

yes - to read this poem perhaps every day - the tragedy is that though Brecht wrote this in the dark days of mid twentieth century - it seems as though the days grow darker yet.
