The Time Of Your Life was a play Saroyan wrote. I acted in that play, in high school and in college. The characters in the play demonstrate Saroyan’s philosophy.

Great highlight of a great writer. A message everyone should hear in this world of digital padding. Real life is not digital.

This reminds me of one of my favorite Kurt Vonnegut quotes: "You know, why don’t you go online and buy a hundred envelopes and put them in the closet? And so I pretend not to hear her. And go out to get an envelope because I’m going to have a hell of a good time in the process..."

God, it's great to see his name again. His short stories were wonderful, and very, very human. Right up there with Steinbeck and Welty. (Flannery O'Conner wrote the best stories, in my opinion, but I would not exactly describe them as "human.")

“Remember that every man is a variation of yourself.” I love this line. It’s a sentiment that resonates and stops me short at once. So many implications. So much truth.
