I am this woman.

I was asleep for years, just dimmed inside but just so, so productive and 'successful.' And I was dying inside and out.

So, I did what my heart screamed for me to do and got off the ride the beginning of this year.

It's scary as f*^k but I feel more alive than I have in decades.

Thank you for this.

"but I feel more alive than I have in decades."

Good for you - you've leapt and in some fashion the net has appeared.

Great article! Thanks for posting.

"My life has been a path at the edge of uncertainty. Today, I think we educate kids to be settled in the comfortable chair. You have your job, you have your little car, you have a place to sleep and the dreams are dead. You don't grow on a secure path. All of us should conquer something in life and it needs a lot of work and it needs a lot of risk in order to grow and to improve." Francis Mallman

Falling Upward by Richard Rohr is also worth a read for those on the path.

No sweat. I think it's actually from his episode on Chef's Table on Netflix.

I was wondering for a long time who is behind Poetic Outlaws. Now my curiosity is satisfied and my admiration engaged. I’m but a simple man looking for where the sane members of this generally insane society hide at. I think I found a place… 🖐🏻

The Harrison one on drinking introduced me to your substack, but this is my favourite of the bunch so far. I'm presently slouching my way towards 40 and feel increasingly misaligned with the rest of the world. It can get lonely, sitting here on the outside, and one forgets that there's much societal interest in convincing people like us that we are aberrant and without likeminded kin.

That's one of the downsides of being a contemplative who values solitude: it's hard to meet and interact with other contemplatives who value solitude.

Appreciate you creating a place where some of us disobedients can congregate and discuss poetry, art, and secret blessings.

Good stuff, friend. The Myth of Sisyphus, by Albert Camus, is another to help come to terms with the feeling of being "stuck" in meaninglessness, instead "be happy" and embrace the rolling boulder of life, yeah? Cheers

"Poetic" is not a genre... it's soul. A style. A way of being. "Poetic" is not strictly poetry. You're right. It's a way of life discovered thru words and attitudes and forgotten wisdom.
