This is so true. I will be reading something, and a phrase will cause me to stop and think. My wife says it reminds her of a movie that had dogs that would be chasing people until someone yells "Squirrel" in which case their attention is altered. Yea she knows me really well.

Here’s to having the freedom to pause in your life to contemplate an old 👞

It sounds weird but it’s actually a luxury not many can afford, especially these days.

I never was part of the herd, but breaks, I did not take often, unfortunately. Since the change of course, I savor them intensely, nothing or almost escapes me, what an intensity her breaks!

Fabulous, and to ‘unkink, unsee, unlearn’,

he should have added ‘undrink’, but sadly but never did and was unmade.

Bukowski did undrink toward the end of his life. He died of leukemia.

Loved Bukowski. I gave his book Post Office (think that's the name) in an anonymous Christmas gift grab at work, a small San Francisco travel publishing company, and when the guy who picked it read from it, our bosses, 2 oldsters, went somewhat wild. The guy happened to read a rather evocative passage--well, the rest is history. They were so mad that someone would bring that trash to a company Christmas party. (love Bukoswki). Have you ever seen the documentary on him? Black/white.

Uncannily timely. I've been recognizing I could do this with writing if I don't want to congeal into a caricature, a stylist. It's just the psychic environment that grows out of the act of writing is so much more inviting than this mass extinction event we've gotten in the habit of calling a world. Nothing but parking lots and birds fallen dead and petrified out of the ionosphere around here-- nothing but veiled cataract eyes and the arctic confetti of death raining on the cadaverous architecture. The mind is its own place.
