My father who art in Heaven- passed away June 2022. My brother and I watched Turners Classics Film with him in chill AC in Florida. I watched a crow- very large - take a bath in the outdoor courtyard. We finally left that afternoon to get something to eat and sleep. They called us back in an hour.
I found this a very relevant and direct depiction of the essence of everything. It feels right to see this as I go through shocking upheavals in life. So it goes.
in a veritable chaos of catastrophic news he echoes the march of souls screaming out of confusions and pains a new future everyone should believe in even upon death ... writing with a prologue, content and conclusion no more ... writing lyrical for the harmonies of mind and spirit no more ... leaving everything behind ... for a march toward hope ... yes ... writing for a hospital of ambitions anchored in the past ... writing to heal both ... the fugitive and the newly stepping up political bureau ... writing to shift his own mind out of this world ... breaking his pencil after last verse ... beautiful
I found Rosshalde in my Dads books when I was in high school and he nodded that it was a good one and I always thought he wanted me to read it to better understand divorce and why my parents separated. Poetic writer Hesse.
Listening with your heart. It's always beautiful when you write about it and share it with the masses. Heart's are 20/20 and they recognize with glee that sense of wonder. Not dark I'd state a knowing.
Your on fire "just read your other post first" and your fearless. It's more enjoyable that way.
Somber, sober and healthy approach to welcoming impermanence!
Thank you – – perfectly stated.
This resonates at the age of 80 as I embark on a new career.
My wife, my love died almost three months ago now. I’m still grieving. This gives me some comfort. Thank you
So sorry for your loss.

My aunt passed this morning. Now my dad’s the last of his family of 5 siblings. This one’s timed well.
Condolences. Peace

Hesse has always been my favorite.... his wisdom is timeless and so very distilled. Thank you for sharing his words

I remember when life was mellow and I was a callow fellow...blessings to everyone at Yuletide.
I want to read this at my aunts memorial on Thursday
That is so exquisite and so sublime. Speaks to the Heart. Gently. Powerfully. Tenderly.
*Hesse's Siddhartha was a very important and healing book for me at a tender age. Aren't they all tender? Yes, I believe they are.
Reminds me of Basho - an amazing figure - concurrent with our colonial forbears-
"THUS TOO my lovely Life
Must fade away--
Flowers in the stream"
Not FADE AWAY. - Buddy Holly
