Tecumseh (born 1768, southeast of Old Chillicothe [north of modern Xenia, Ohio, U.S.]—died October 5, 1813, at 45 years old, near Thames River, Upper Canada [now in Ontario, Canada]) was a Shawnee Indian chief, orator, military leader, and advocate of intertribal Indian alliance who directed Indian resistance to white rule in the Ohio River valley.
And we know how that sad story ended as the generations succeeded.
Listen to the deeply felt words of this young man, retrieved from a profound well of wisdom.
The 'white man' wiped out the Native Americans, with all their insights and wisdom. Now, all we have is Trump and his mindless nonsense, and the other crowd aren't much better. I mean who's in power now while all these atrocities are being committed in Ukraine and Gaza and Beirut?
Wise, wise words... There's not much more that really needs to be said, is there? Thank you as always Erik! I hope you and your family fared well with the storm this week. 🙏☺️
When I was 12 years old, I read a wonderful book by Ray Bradbury called DANDELION WINE. It was semi-autobiographical about the summer Bradbury was 12 years old in Waukegan, Illinois. In the book, Waukegan is Green Town. The theme of the book is the importance of living in the moment and feeling the joys, the fears, the pain and the bliss. Be ALIVE in the moment and you'll be fully alive.

I live only half an hour down the road from the spot he fell. Beautiful poetry. Beautiful message. 🙏❤️
Thank you for the lineage of this guiding poem. It's no wonder I can sense into it's life saving power. :)
You have no idea how much I needed to hear this today. Thanks.
Agree, thank you.

'Respect others in their view,
and demand that they respect yours.'
- Chief Tecumseh
May all beings find that peace to die with grace.
As I get older these words will always be true. I just have never seen them written.
Beautiful and wise. Thank you.
Reminds me of 'Crossing the Bar' by Tennyson. Two totally different cultural mileus but the same forward-facing, eternity-embracing way of living.
A large step back, to retrieve great wisdom! We need those thoughts more than ever.
A better description of a life well lived I have never heard. Well done brother, well done !
"they weep and pray for a little
more time to live their lives
over again in a
different way."
As a young man, I felt that one
Thank you. Peace and healing to all! ☮️💟🕊️
This poem gave me goosebumps. I appreciate the candor it breathes.

Similar to the lines of the poems I write. Really needed to read this! Truly wonderful!
