God shows up in us as us. Poetry is bridge to soul.

Gods' orchestra is there for everyone to listen to, but the other sounds seem to drown out Gods beautiful melody. If you tune your ears to his notes, it will help drown out the other sounds.

I met her her twice. Once st a reading, once on the street. Brilliant poet. 30 years ago I was publishing a small poetry 'zine. She sent me one poem, and of course I jumped on it. When we met she didn't realize that I was the same guy.

It seems to me that “other sounds” are part of the melody

Perhaps, but in today's world, much of the "other sounds" seem to drown out the transcendent melody. It's all manufactured noise, fear, and distraction, drawing us away from the sacred silence. In the words of Hermann Hesse: “The world does not give us very much now; it often seems to consist of nothing but noise and fear, and yet grass and trees still grow."

That's it- our current world: a swirling miasma of events, noise and confusion. This poem gives us that insightful imagery of finding that other tuning for our own journeys. TY

For as long as I can recall, I’ve never been able to turn away from the human experience of pain, be it between others or within myself. As a child, I would frequently stare down the sun like a moth drawn to a flame. Artists like Julia Vinograd show me that one need not go the way of Icarus. That one can write their way into healing. Julia felt the pain of the world and wanted to direct people’s attention to the suffering of others. Rather than censor our gaze, her poetry inspires us to creatively transpose the brokenness we observe and experience. She was the living embodiment of Martin Luthor King’s statement, "Human salvation lies in the hands of the creatively maladjusted."
