Nothing is absolute.
“I tried to drown my sorrows but the bastards learned to swim.”
Thank you for the reminder of her magic.
I love this one as well!
It is enlightening to see that I'm not alone.
Thank you for this. Frida Kahlo is one of my most favorite people of all time. Not just for her art, but for her fire and how she lived life her way.
Whenever I feel ashamed of writing what tormented me, or writing what torments me, I think of her and I am encouraged to just be.
Her painting “What the Water Gave Me” inspired one of my poems of the same title, and has also influenced some of my often changing fashion sense.
Frida Kahlo is forever a muse of mine.
there is no one like frida.
yeah, *is*, bc she is always present to me.
They thought I was a surrealistic painter, when I was busy painting my own Reality
If only I could learn to wear pain as magnificently as Frida did. Maybe one day...
Wondrous, one-of-a-kind woman, turning her immense pain into vivid, magnificent creations.
"i am love" "i am pleasure" "i am" god, i love this woman. thanks for this.
A warrior and a saint all rolled into one badass.
Fantastic article thank you for this - she was such a force and forever inspiring ❤️
Her own words add a great deal to understanding and appreciating her work. Shame galleries don’t post them beside her works.
Thank you!
As an old blues guitarist I’m floored. Such passion! Thank you.
So much to learn from her. "She wore her suffering like a luminous crown and raised the bar of what we perceive as art."
💐🍷
Here is a wonderful documentary using her own words and art. It tells her story in clear and compelling terms. We loved watching it having been to her home in Mexico City. '"Frida"
