Apart from disdaining the classics, can't say I disagree with anything here. He hits the nail 500% on the head when mentioning the inability to adapt.

LOVE the Henry Miller Quote.....AND......as a woman of today's madness and magic....I believe there is a place in-between...certainly not immune to ART and not beyond it either somewhere inside the teetering and tottering, ever tilting unreasonableness and grandeur...of art.

Only a nobody is immune to art while a sage, who is removed from worldly pleasures, is beyond the impact art might have.

if reading the classics is required for someone to be a writer, or a poet, or an artist, then how come reams of oceans of non-fiction, poems, novels and stranger than fiction narrative, maybe 20,000 pages, and lots of surreal soul drawings, claimed to have hatched out of me?
