This just transports me to a new world, a new consciousness, a place of enchantment, where new stars appear in the sky, the wind blows over the naked earth, where the earth and the moon become lovers.
The newt from that egg feels very down to earth, real and sensual. This not a Hallmark card but a beautiful connecttion to our changing world and beyond.
This is a wonderful poem that celebrates the arrival of spring and sings of hope. The diction, no doubt, is poetic which makes this poem a pleasure to read.
After having been away, to return to this is, as Mary Oliver would say, astonishing:
*Instructions for living a life.
Pay attention.
Be astonished.
Tell about it.*
Thank you. And the image is gorgeous.
"and probably everything is possible."
I love the uncertainty in these lines because they make me think that yes, probably, if we recognize and nurture the potential in it all.
Love her writing. She really communes with nature and her surroundings. Comes though beautifully.
I am watching the snow fall as I read this and hearing news of a winter storm watch. March is not Spring in South Dakota.
I’ve only recently discovered Mary Oliver, and frankly, I’m amazed by how much I missed out. In the other hand: so much yet to discover!
Ah Spring, and we just got 2 feet of snow - everything is possible
I always want to be young enough to feel this "and probably
everything
is possible." Thank you it really pepped me up today

I feel the same reading this too, Joe!
What a lovely Ode to Sunday morning. Thank you and namaste. 🙏🏻❤️
love the choice of art
Whoa. "even the men who walked upon the moon
are lying content
by open windows" we all share the same love of that spring breeze
Mary knows!!
