This reminds me of Twain’s Letters from Earth which pops top of mind sometimes. Oh — He must have been furious with the Great Mystery when he wrote it.
If an all- seeing, all knowing, all-loving God made the world, why did he make such a bad job of it? Why is there such mayhem and chaos? Or are we, perhaps, talking about precisely that - a God of mayhem and chaos - and man's attempts to add meaning to it all?
God and the Devil; pacts made at midnight at some crossroads somewhere in the deep south. Why is it we always define these traits as being well outside of ourselves. Things we can see from a distance that draws ever nearer while we scamper away and try to hide. What if God and the Devil are both within each of us and always have been. That might account for all those times when our prayers were ignored. Because we were there doing the things we were praying someone else would come in and rescue us from.
Yes, very dark. This is freedom. One can choose darkness, but one doesn’t have to. Wagner’s Ring is about God’s disappointment in the dark choices we make.
Zen the hate molecule in the system which confounds your mind. Binding arbitrators, oh so suave and devious please come out of hiding and bring your servants wisdom
"Squinting thru the fading light at the yellow pad, crossing swords with inconceivable forces" is like watching words glow in a darkening forest. Beautifully dark pondering. Thanks for sharing
Free Will to do as we please. A generous move. With perhaps too much faith put into mankind. Wisdom doesn't always exist at birth.. And God's universe certainly doesn't require it, at least at face value
“Is man merely a mistake of God's? Or God merely a mistake of man?” ― Friedrich Nietzsche
"If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him." -Voltaire
Or, it’s necessary to make mistakes and invent god so that we can learn from those mistakes 😀
Oh yeah the myths nail it. Knowledge = cast out of blissfull unknowing
I love what John Bennett does for poetry wherever he goes.

If ever Leonard Cohen's dictum, "There is a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in" need be intimately embraced, it is now.

Much to ponder. Thank you.
